Three deliberately different telescopic travel rods from Ventra Fishing. Not one rod in different powers — three distinct fishing experiences, each designed to collapse small enough to travel with you.
Telescopic construction is a deliberate choice, not a convenience. Collapsed length is set first, and the blank, section architecture and guide layout are developed around it.
V-66 UL
In development
A very fine, responsive, crisp and lightweight finesse rod. Built for small lures, light line and the kind of fishing where feel decides everything.
V-73
In development
A crisp, balanced, versatile all-round lure rod. The rod to reach for when you do not yet know what the water will ask of you.
V-82
In development
Greater power and authority while staying responsive and enjoyable to fish. For bigger lures, stronger water and fish that pull back.
All specifications are development targets, not final production specifications. They are subject to prototype testing and may change.
02Carry two
Because the rods collapse so compactly, carrying two of them stops being a logistical decision. A V-66 UL and a V-82 take up little more room than a conventional rod tube.
That changes how a session works. You arrive, read the water, and choose how you want to fish it — finesse or power — instead of fishing whatever you happened to bring.

03Development objectives
These are the things we are actively working on across all three rods. They are design objectives, not finished mechanisms.
01Extendable rear butt
We are developing an adjustable rear-handle concept across V-66, V-73 and V-82. The intent is a shorter, agile working position and an extended position offering additional casting leverage. Still in engineering development.
02Tip and guide protection as standard
Every V-Series rod is intended to be supplied with a suitable tip and guide protector. We are currently evaluating existing moulded protector systems, so no final design is confirmed.
03Compact collapsed architecture
Collapsed length is set before anything else, then the blank, sections and guide layout are developed to answer to it.

V-GUARDSupplied with every V-Series rod
The tip and collapsed guide system is the most vulnerable part of a travel rod, so protecting it should not be an optional extra.
Every V-Series rod is intended to be supplied with a suitable tip and guide protector as standard. V-GUARD is the name for that protection, not a separate purchase.
We are currently evaluating existing moulded protector systems, so no final design is confirmed.
